What to Wear While Studying for the SAT and ACT

There's something to be said for not wearing sweatpants. {Tweet It}

There's something to be said for taking the time to get dressed in clothes that help you feel awesome.

Call it costume. Call it uniform. Call it a call to action.

Just like other rituals—sharpening pencils, orienting your mind to the task at hand—the right outfit can help reinforce your intention.

Maybe I'm more aware of this because of my experience as an actress, but the clothes we wear affect and reflect our mindset.

And, this isn't just a lesson for fashion-conscious.

When John Thompson III took over as head coach of the Georgetown basketball team, he brought with him a firm policy: players wear suits when traveling.

They are pros. Pros show up to get the job done.

Sure, when I leave home to coach or attend a business meeting, I might not be in a suit like some of my friends who work in finance or law (or the Georgetown basketball team), but I feel comfortable, confident, and prepared, dressed for the part of someone who feels comfortable, confident, and prepared.

There's something to be said for getting dressed on a weekend, even if you could get away with staying in your pajamas all day.

There's something to be said for choosing to show up as our best selves and for taking the steps necessary to do that.

What do you do to feel prepared?

Tomorrow, I challenge you to "suit up" and wear your favorite outfit to school. How does it make you feel to know that you've shown up as your best self?

Extra credit: wear that same outfit (or another you like just as much) when you sit down to your test prep this weekend.

And, a reminder that for a LIMITED TIME, I am offering FREE introductory coaching sessions!!

I'm so excited to work with you!!!
